Description

This Baked Boursin Salmon recipe is a delightful and elegant dish featuring tender salmon fillets topped with a creamy, flavorful Boursin cheese mixture infused with garlic, herbs, and lemon. It’s a quick and simple oven-baked meal perfect for a nutritious weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (56 ounces each)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter, divided

Boursin Cheese Mixture

  • 1 round of Boursin cheese (5.2 oz), garlic & fine herbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s properly heated before baking the salmon.
  2. Prepare the baking dish: Lightly grease the baking dish with oil or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  3. Make the cheese mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the Boursin cheese, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, and half of the olive oil or melted butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Season the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Drizzle the remaining olive oil or melted butter over the fillets and season them evenly with salt and black pepper.
  5. Assemble the dish: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the prepared baking dish. Spread the Boursin cheese mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
  6. Bake the salmon: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve: Garnish the baked salmon fillets with fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure the salmon is cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F to ensure doneness.
  • You can substitute olive oil with melted butter for a richer flavor.
  • To reduce cleanup, line the baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days in an airtight container.
  • Pair this dish with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
