Description
Campfire Pie is a warm, gooey dessert that combines a buttery graham cracker crust with melted chocolate chips and toasted mini marshmallows. Perfectly baked to golden perfection, this sweet treat brings the nostalgic flavors of a campfire s’more to your oven.
Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Filling
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Topping
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the crust and filling.
- Make Crust Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir the mixture together until it is evenly combined and resembles wet sand.
- Form Crust: Press the graham cracker mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish, creating a uniform crust layer.
- Bake Crust: Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake the crust for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it is lightly golden in color. Remove from the oven and allow the crust to cool slightly to set.
- Add Filling: Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the cooled crust, then follow with an even layer of mini marshmallows on top. Add the vanilla extract by drizzling or mixing it lightly with the marshmallows if desired.
- Bake Filling: Return the pie to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. The marshmallows should turn golden brown and become gooey.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the pie from the oven, drizzle with chocolate syrup if using, and let it cool for a few minutes to set before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can use either semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips depending on your sweetness preference.
- For an extra flavor boost, try adding chopped nuts or a sprinkle of cinnamon to the crust mixture.
- If you prefer a vegan version, substitute vegan butter and use dairy-free chocolate chips and marshmallows.
- Letting the pie cool slightly before slicing prevents the filling from oozing out too much.
- Serve warm for the best gooey texture reminiscent of campfire s’mores.
