Vinaigrette Ingredients
- ¼ cup (60 g) red wine vinegar
- ¼ cup water
- 3 tablespoons chipotles in adobo (about 1–2 peppers with sauce)
- 2 ½ tablespoons honey
- ½ tablespoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ cup (109 g) vegetable oil
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the red wine vinegar, water, chipotles in adobo sauce, honey, kosher salt, black pepper, and dried oregano into the bowl of a blender and blend until well combined.
- Emulsify Oil: With the blender running on low speed, slowly drizzle in the vegetable oil to emulsify the mixture and create a smooth, cohesive vinaigrette.
- Store Vinaigrette: Pour the finished vinaigrette into a container with a tight-fitting lid and chill in the refrigerator.
- Refrigerate: Store the vinaigrette in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, shaking or stirring before each use to re-emulsify if separation occurs.
Notes
- Shake well before each use as the dressing may separate over time.
- Adjust honey amount to taste depending on desired sweetness.
- Use chipotles in adobo according to your spice tolerance; remove seeds for less heat.
- Perfect as a salad dressing or a marinade for grilled vegetables and meats.
- Keep refrigerated and consume within 5 days for best flavor and freshness.
