  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 protein balls 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

Delicious and nutritious Chocolate Brownie Protein Balls made with almond butter, chocolate protein powder, and cocoa. These no-bake treats are perfect for a healthy snack or post-workout boost, combining rich chocolate flavor with wholesome ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1/2 cup creamy almond butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Chocolate Coating

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Add almond flour, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, and sea salt to the wet mixture. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and form a thick dough.
  4. Form balls: Scoop out about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll into small balls using your hands. Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Chill the balls: Place the tray of balls in the freezer for 15 minutes or the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up the mixture, making them easier to dip.
  6. Melt chocolate coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  7. Dip balls in chocolate: Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each chilled ball in the melted chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl, then return the coated balls to the baking sheet.
  8. Add finishing touch: Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of each chocolate-coated ball for added flavor and texture.
  9. Final chill: Refrigerate the chocolate-dipped balls for at least one hour until the chocolate coating is set and firm.

Notes

  • Store protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute almond butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey according to taste.
  • Use high-quality dark chocolate chips for richer flavor and better health benefits.
  • These protein balls are great on-the-go snacks and perfect for a quick energy boost.
