Ingredients

Scale

Fruits and Treats

  • 12 large fresh strawberries, washed and completely dried
  • 24 mini marshmallows (2 for each strawberry)
  • 12 pretzel sticks, cut in half (24 short sticks total)

Chocolate and Additives

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet melting chocolate or chocolate chips
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers (for bone tips)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, helps smooth chocolate)

Other

  • Parchment paper (for lining tray)
  • Popsicle sticks (optional, for dipping/serving)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly to ensure no moisture prevents the chocolate from sticking. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and cut pretzel sticks in half to create short sticks for turkey legs.
  2. Make the drumsticks: Insert one end of each halved pretzel stick halfway into the flat side of a mini marshmallow, creating a drumstick. Prepare two drumsticks per strawberry.
  3. Attach to the strawberry: Melt a small portion of the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments until smooth. Dip the marshmallow side of each pretzel stick into the melted chocolate and gently press it onto the upper side of the strawberry near the green stem. Repeat on the opposite side for two legs.
  4. Let them harden: Place the strawberries carefully onto the parchment-lined tray and allow the chocolate attaching the marshmallow legs to set completely, about 10–15 minutes.
  5. Dip the strawberries: Melt the remaining chocolate, adding coconut oil if using, until glossy and smooth. Hold each strawberry by the stem or a popsicle stick and dip the entire strawberry, including marshmallow legs, into the chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off before placing on parchment paper to set.
  6. Add the white chocolate detail: Once the dipped turkeys have set, melt the white chocolate chips and dip just the tips of the pretzel ends to mimic turkey bones, then place back on parchment paper.
  7. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the finished chocolate covered strawberry turkeys for 10–15 minutes until fully hardened. Serve on a festive platter or package individually as a charming Thanksgiving treat.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to achieve a smooth chocolate coating.
  • Coconut oil is optional but helps create a shiny and smooth melted chocolate.
  • Using popsicle sticks makes dipping and handling easier, especially for kids.
  • Store completed treats in the refrigerator until serving to keep the chocolate firm.
  • These treats are best enjoyed the same day but can be kept refrigerated for up to 2 days.
