Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 12 ounce jar sliced pickled jalapeños (drain and reserve the juice)
- 1/4 cup tomatillo sauce
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (or more to taste)
- 1 ounce packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
- 1/2–1 teaspoon garlic salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Drain Jalapeños: Place a colander inside a bowl and drain the sliced pickled jalapeños, making sure to reserve the liquid juice for use later.
- Blend Ingredients: Add drained jalapeños, 2 tablespoons of the reserved pickled jalapeño juice, tomatillo sauce, sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, chopped cilantro, Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix, and garlic salt into a blender or food processor. Blend until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Adjust Flavors: Taste the sauce and adjust according to your preference. Add lime juice for tanginess, more pickled jalapeños or fresh jalapeño for extra heat, or additional ranch mix and garlic salt to enhance the flavor.
- Chill: Transfer the creamy jalapeño sauce into an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- Use fresh jalapeños if you prefer a spicier sauce.
- Lime juice can be added to enhance tanginess.
- Refrigerate for longer to deepen the flavors.
- This sauce works well as a dip, salad dressing, or sandwich spread.
- Adjust garlic salt carefully to avoid oversalting.
