  • Author: Charlotte
  • Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: About 20-24 bites depending on mold size 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

These Easy Frozen Yogurt Bites are a creamy, healthy treat perfect for a quick snack or dessert. Made with thick Greek or coconut yogurt and naturally sweetened with maple syrup, they’re customizable with your favorite nut butter and optional protein powder. Topped with antioxidant-rich cacao nibs and coated with a smooth layer of chocolate, these bite-sized delights are simple to prepare and freezer-friendly for convenient enjoyment any time.

Ingredients

Scale

Frozen Yogurt Mixture

  • 1 cup thick Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt
  • 3 tbsp cashew butter or almond butter
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup (add extra 1 tbsp if needed)
  • 3 tbsp protein powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt (Maldon or Celtic salt preferred)
  • Handful of cacao nibs (optional)

Chocolate Topping

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Mix the Frozen Yogurt Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, nut butter, maple syrup, optional protein powder, sea salt, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth, thick, and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness or texture as needed.
  2. Fill the Mold: Divide the yogurt mixture evenly among your chosen molds, filling each about two-thirds full to allow room for the chocolate topping.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: In a small bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Melt the mixture either by using a double-boiler method or microwaving in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between each, until completely smooth.
  4. Add Chocolate Topping: Spoon melted chocolate over each filled mold, filling the remaining one-third of each crevice to create a chocolate layer.
  5. Freeze: Place the molds in the freezer and freeze for 3-4 hours until solid. Once frozen, remove the yogurt bites from molds and store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two months.
  6. Serve: Before enjoying, let the frozen yogurt bites thaw for a few minutes to reach the creamiest texture.

Notes

  • Use thick Greek yogurt for a creamy texture, or coconut yogurt for a dairy-free option.
  • Cashew butter or almond butter work best; you can substitute with other nut butters but adjust sweetness accordingly.
  • Protein powder is optional; omit if you don’t enjoy the taste or texture it adds.
  • Cacao nibs add antioxidants and a crunchy texture but are optional and can be substituted with other mix-ins like nuts or dried fruit.
  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer to maintain freshness.
