Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened, at room temperature)
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ¾ cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 2 Tbsp dried chives (or parsley)
  • ½ tsp hot sauce (optional, to taste)
  • 8 oz imitation crab meat (pollock, chopped or shredded)

Instructions

  1. Prep & Mix The Dip: In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 oz softened cream cheese, ¼ cup sour cream, ¼ cup mayonnaise, and 1 tsp lemon juice. Stir thoroughly to create a smooth base for the dip.
  2. Add Seasonings and Cheese: Mix in ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 tsp Cajun seasoning, 2 Tbsp dried chives (or parsley), and optionally ½ tsp hot sauce. Stir well to evenly distribute the flavors.
  3. Fold in Imitation Crab: Gently fold 8 oz of chopped or shredded imitation crab meat into the mixture until evenly dispersed, taking care not to break up the crab too much.
  4. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (170℃/Gas Mark 4) to prepare for baking the dip.
  5. Bake the Dip: Transfer the prepared dip mixture into a baking dish and place it in the preheated oven. Bake at 350℉ (170℃) until the dip is hot and bubbly around the edges, approximately 20-25 minutes.
  6. Serve Immediately: Once baked, remove the dip from the oven and serve immediately. Pair with chips or crackers for an irresistible appetizer experience.

Notes

  • You can substitute dried chives with fresh chives or parsley if preferred for a fresher flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to suit your spice preference or omit it for a milder dip.
  • For a richer dip, you can use full-fat cream cheese and mayonnaise.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and texture; leftovers can be reheated gently in the oven.
