  • Author: Charlotte
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 8 servings 1x

Description

This Oven Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer perfect for game day or parties. Combining shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, cream cheese, ranch dressing, and cheddar cheese, this dip is baked until bubbly and golden on top. Serve it warm with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for a crowd-pleasing snack that’s easy to make and packed with bold flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 4 cups cooked shredded chicken breasts (approximately 24 ounces)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Topping

  • 2 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the dip evenly.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cooked shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and 6 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese until the mixture is well combined and creamy.
  3. Prepare casserole dish: Grease a 2-quart casserole dish lightly to prevent sticking. Then spread the chicken mixture evenly into the dish and cover with aluminum foil to retain moisture during baking.
  4. Bake covered: Place the covered casserole dish into the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. This step allows the dip to heat through and flavors to meld.
  5. Add cheese topping: Remove the foil carefully, sprinkle the remaining 2 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the dip to create a cheesy crust.
  6. Bake uncovered: Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese on top is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  7. Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the mixture before baking.
  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time when preparing the shredded chicken.
  • You can substitute ranch dressing with blue cheese dressing for a different flavor profile.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
  • Serve with celery sticks, carrot sticks, tortilla chips, or crackers for variety.
