Easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion, these golden crescents offer a delicious combination of rich brown sugar, corn syrup, and pecans with a hint of cinnamon.
Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon if using, and a pinch of salt. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed into a cohesive filling.
- Prepare the dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles along the perforated lines.
- Fill and shape crescents: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the pecan filling onto the wide end of each triangular dough piece. Roll the dough tightly from the wide end toward the pointed tip, encasing the filling inside.
- Bake: Place the filled crescents onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Allow the crescents to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving. Optionally, drizzle a glaze over the top for added sweetness and presentation.
Notes
- Use either light or dark brown sugar and corn syrup; both work well.
- The cinnamon is optional but adds a nice warmth to the filling.
- You can drizzle a simple icing glaze made from powdered sugar and milk to enhance sweetness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- These crescents can be served warm or at room temperature.
