  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Pecan Pie Crescents are a delightful twist on traditional pecan pie, featuring buttery crescent roll dough filled with a sweet, nutty pecan mixture. Easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion, these golden crescents offer a delicious combination of rich brown sugar, corn syrup, and pecans with a hint of cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Dough

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon if using, and a pinch of salt. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed into a cohesive filling.
  3. Prepare the dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles along the perforated lines.
  4. Fill and shape crescents: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the pecan filling onto the wide end of each triangular dough piece. Roll the dough tightly from the wide end toward the pointed tip, encasing the filling inside.
  5. Bake: Place the filled crescents onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the crescents to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving. Optionally, drizzle a glaze over the top for added sweetness and presentation.

Notes

  • Use either light or dark brown sugar and corn syrup; both work well.
  • The cinnamon is optional but adds a nice warmth to the filling.
  • You can drizzle a simple icing glaze made from powdered sugar and milk to enhance sweetness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • These crescents can be served warm or at room temperature.
