Ingredients
Scale
Ladyfinger Soak
- 14 ounces ladyfingers
- ½ cup orange juice
- ½ cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec preferred)
- ¼ cup orange liqueur (for drizzling)
Mascarpone Cream
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 16 ounces heavy whipping cream, chilled
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar, sifted
Fruit and Preserves
- 13 ounces strawberry preserve
- 32 ounces fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine the room temperature mascarpone and sifted powdered sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip the chilled heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form, indicating it is airy but not overwhipped.
- Combine cream and mascarpone: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated, creating a light and fluffy cream filling.
- Prepare soaking liquid: Mix together the orange juice and ½ cup of the orange liqueur in a shallow dish; stir well to combine flavors.
- Soak ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the soaking liquid, ensuring they are moist but not soggy to maintain texture.
- Assemble first layer: Arrange a single layer of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of your serving dish, covering the base evenly.
- Add cream and fruit layers: Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the ladyfingers, followed by half the strawberry preserve, then top with half of the sliced strawberries.
- Repeat layering: Repeat the process by adding another layer of soaked ladyfingers, the remaining mascarpone cream, the rest of the strawberry preserve, and the remaining sliced strawberries on top.
- Finish with liqueur: Drizzle the remaining ¼ cup of orange liqueur evenly over the top of the assembled tiramisu for added flavor and aroma.
- Chill the tiramisu: Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and ladyfingers to soften properly before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the most vibrant flavor.
- If orange liqueur is not available, substitute with an equal amount of orange juice or another citrus liqueur.
- Ensure the mascarpone is at room temperature for easier mixing and creaminess.
- Do not soak ladyfingers too long to avoid a soggy texture.
- This dessert can be prepared a day in advance to enhance flavor development.
